Train with purpose, perform with confidence
Hybrid events coaching — structured training for serious athletes.
Hybrid events demand a different breed of athlete, one who can move seamlessly between strength, endurance, and skill under fatigue. Success isn’t built on guesswork.
At Gill’s Coaching, we work with athletes who understand that intention matters. You don’t hope to perform on race day; you prepare for it. Whether you’re navigating your first hybrid event or refining your competitive edge, we provide the programming, expertise, and accountability that turns potential into results.
Our services
We meet athletes where they are. Choose a standalone training programme to work independently, or invest in a tailored coaching plan built around your specific demands, timeline, and goals. For those serious about full optimization, our in-person sessions at our private facility allow us to assess movement quality, refine technique, and progress you beyond what remote coaching can achieve. Many athletes combine remote coaching with periodic in-person blocks for maximum efficiency.
Why it matters
Hybrid events expose weaknesses. The athlete who thrives is the one with a plan—not a hope. We provide periodized programming that builds your aerobic engine, develops strength and conditions you for the transition chaos that separates finishers from competitors. Your training is intentional, measurable, and progressive.
From programme design to competition day preparation, we treat your training with the precision it deserves. This is coaching built for athletes with serious intent.
Let’s build your competitive advantage.

Where does training take place?
Subscription & standalone programmes — remote training
Your programming is delivered online. You train independently at your own facility or gym, following the structured plan we've created for you. You have full flexibility to train on your own schedule while maintaining the programming structure that drives results.
Bespoke premium service — hybrid approach: remote + in-person
Your tailored programme is delivered remotely, but includes one monthly in-person check-in session at our private facility in Bishop's Stortford.
During these sessions, we:
- Assess your movement quality and technique
- Review your training progress
- Make real-time adjustments to your programming
- Optimize your preparation for competition
Book your sessions online via our live calendar. Sessions are flexible and scheduled around your availability.
Do I need to be fit before I start?
We recommend a good baseline level of fitness and a basic understanding of hybrid sports before beginning any of our programmes.
Why this matters
Hybrid events combine strength, endurance, and skill under fatigue. Without foundational fitness, you risk injury and may struggle to benefit from structured programming. Similarly, understanding the demands of hybrid sports—transitions, pacing, movement under fatigue—helps you get maximum value from your coaching.
What this looks like
You should be comfortable with:
- Regular training (3-4+ sessions per week)
- Compound movements (squats, deadlifts, pressing patterns)
- Basic cardiovascular work (running, rowing, cycling)
- The general structure of hybrid events

If you're fit but new to hybrid events, our Consultation Service is an excellent starting point. We'll assess your fitness, discuss your goals, and recommend whether our Standalone or Subscription programmes are the right fit—or if additional preparation is needed first.
